Mick Bull was on hand to try and ensure that the teams played nicely…

Val Gilks hospitality was greatly appreciated, the Gents Team especially enjoyed the bacon
sandwiches which got the day off to a good start.
Morning Foursomes were dominated by the ladies team helping themselves to 3.5 points.
Two of the matches had extra interest with Gary Bickley having to compete against his
mother in law and wife. Alan Johnson also had to contend with his wife Margaret. The ladies
went home with the bragging rights on both occasions.
The Gents team had three members making their Dawns Trophy debut, Dan Campbell,
Shannon Etheridge and George Scaric. Credit to Dan whose match fitness was in doubt half
an hour before he was due to tee off.
The morning belonged to the Ladies who stormed into a 2 point lead with 3.5 points to the
Gents 2 points and the Seniors 1 point won by Alan Abbott.
Afternoon Four Balls saw honours even with each team adding 2 points to their total.
After a short break for refreshments and a chance to rehydrate for some of the Gents team
the Singles matches were underway.
The Ladies team could not capitalise on there early form and the Gents and Seniors led the
charge for the trophy.
The Gents came out on top in the singles matches gaining 8 points with the Seniors adding
6.5 and the Ladies 3.5 to their totals.
That resulted in the Gents winning the trophy by the smallest of margins,
Gents 11.5 Ladies 9 Seniors 9.5.
Notable performances on the day Sarah Britain involved in 3 wins. Matt Ford and Dave Cook
for the Gents with 2 wins and a draw. Paul Sidwell involved in 2 wins for the seniors.
The competition was a credit to Bramcote Waters Golf Club with some excellent sport and
